Diagnosis and Treatment of Skin Diseases

We provide professional dermatological assessment and examinations, and offer the most advanced and evidenced based treatment to our patients.

Paediatric Dermatology

We understand the special nature of children’s skin and the diseases that they could get. We could formulate treatments which specifically suit their needs.

Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is the use of liquid nitrogen which has a temperature of almost -200 C to remove skin lesions. Cryotherapy is one of the most common form of treatments in dermatology. It is a relatively safe treatment and can treat skin diseases like eg. warts.

Curettage and Cautery

Curettage and cautery can be done under local anaesthesia as minor surgery in the clinic. There is minimal pain after receiving the injection of local anaesthetic agents. Curettage and cautery can treat skin conditions eg. warts, seborrhoeic keratoses, actinic keratoses, skin tags etc.

Skin Biopsy, Skin Lesion Excision

Skin biopsy is one of the most common form of skin surgeries. After carefully deciding the biopsy site, the doctors would perform a local anesthesia. There is minimal pain during surgery. The doctor will decide how much skin and how deep the skin needed to be taken out for pathological examination. Different category of skin diseases require different types of skin samples and the doctor will make the best judgement for the patients. Stitches are usually needed to close the wound. A scar would form but likely to diminish slowly over time.

Chemical Peeling

Chemical peeling is the use of different concentrations of glycolic acid to decompose and remove the stratum corneum of the skin surface in order to accelerate the skin metabolism. Regular use of chemical peeling can promote the growth of collagen and elastic fibers in the dermis, which would reduce fine lines and pigmentation, whiten skin, improve acne and reduce oil secretion.
Chemical peeling usually takes several treatments to reach the optimal result. The strength of chemical peeling can be progressively raised to improve the result if the patient can tolerate well the treatment.

Allergy Testing

Patch test is a simple test that can aid to identify the possible allergens and to diagnose allergic contact dermatitis.

Biologics

Biologics are medications originated from living organisms such as humans, plants, animals, or microorganisms. They intervene with particular components of the body’s immune system to treat immune-mediated inflammatory disorders.

Aesthetic Medicine

Laser Pigment Removal/Tattoo Removal

Laser can effectively treat various kind of skin conditions, such as freckles, solar lentigoes, cafe au lait macules, naevus of Ota, tattoos, wrinkles etc.

Mole Screening / Laser Mole Removal

Ultrapulse carbon dioxide laser can accurately vaporize the target pigmented tissue and stop bleeding at the same time. By limiting the size of the wound and collateral tissue damage, it greatly reduce the chance of scar formation.

Laser Toning for Skin Redness

The inflammation of skin caused by acne and rosacea can result in red marks on faces which are unsightly. This is due to the new formation and dilation of blood vessels in the skin. Lasers with specific wavelength can target the blood vessels which can control and improve this skin condition.

Laser Toning

Lasers with longer wavelength can penetrate into the dermis and stimulate the fibroblast to produce new collagen. The increase in collagen in skin can result in wrinkles reduction and skin pore shrinkage. It can also result in skin whitening and skin tone improvement.

HIFU

HIFU is the synonym of High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. The working principle of HIFU is to raise the temperature of the deeper part of the skin to 60 ° C to 70 ° C by focusing the energy of ultrasound. The heating will result in both the formation of new collagen and tightening of the original collagen in the fascia layer of the skin. This will lead to skin tightening and lifting. This technique would not harm the superficial tissues of the skin since the energy will only concentrate on the deeper part of the skin.

Hyaluronic Acid Filler Injection

Hyaluronic acid is a substance that naturally exists in the human body. Therefore the injection of hyaluronic acid filler can be completely decomposed by the body after some time. Careful injection of hyaluronic acid filler can improve the contour of the face.

Botulinum Toxin Injection

Botulinum toxin can reduce wrinkles caused by muscle contraction of the face. It can help to reduce: eyebrow lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet lines, wrinkled nose lines, etc. Botulinum toxin blocks the nerve signal transmission, therefore, relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles.
